Where is Baker?

Baker, Montana is located in southeastern, Montana approximately 12 miles from the North Dakota border and 160 miles south of Williston, North Dakota, the heart of the Bakken Oil Boom. Baker has received attention recently as it is going to be the on-ramp for Bakken crude to enter the Keystone Pipeline.  Transcanada expects to spend $140 million at its Baker facilities which will be able to receive 100,000 barrels per day of Bakken crude.  Additionally, Kinder Morgan has recently announced open season for shipper commitment on its 100,000 barrels per day Pony Express oil pipeline from Baker, Montana to refineries in Ponca City, Oklahoma and the oil storage hub at Cushing, Oklahoma.  Denbury has recently sold its North Dakota properties to raise cash to buy ConocoPhillips CCA assets and additional CO2 supply from exxon. Denbury plans to spend over $1 billion on CO2 pipelines and associated infrastructure  to recover reserves in the Rockies region including the Cedar Creek Anticline of 260-280 million barrels.  Baker sites directly on the anticline.
